A. It is unlawful for a person to solicit money or other support in the name of American veterans unless the veterans' organization for which the person is soliciting money or other support files a registration statement with the secretary of state in a format prescribed by the secretary of state.
B. A person who violates this section is guilty of a class 3 misdemeanor.
