What does “Theater owner” mean in California criminal law?

“Theater owner” means an owner or operator, and the agent, employee, consignee, lessee, or officer of an owner or operator, of any premises used for the exhibition or performance of motion pictures to the general public. (Cal. Penal Code § 490.5)
