(a) A bail fugitive recovery agent, bail agent, bail permittee, or bail solicitor who contracts their services to another bail agent or surety as a bail fugitive recovery agent for the purposes specified in paragraph (4) of subdivision (a) of Section 1299.01, and any bail agent, bail permittee, or bail solicitor who obtains licensing after January 1, 2000, and who engages in the arrest of a defendant pursuant to Section 1301 shall comply with Sections 1800 to 1823, inclusive, of the Insurance Code, and any regulations promulgated by the Insurance Commissioner. (b) This section shall become operative on July 1, 2023.
