As used in Sections 25105, 25135, and 25145, “authorized user” means an individual who is not prohibited by state or federal law from possessing, receiving, owning, or purchasing a firearm and who meets either of the following requirements: (a) The individual is the lawful owner of the firearm. (b) The individual has been lawfully authorized by the lawful owner of the firearm to access, possess, and use the firearm.
