The commission shall incorporate into the course curriculum required for initial certification of a law enforcement officer instruction on the authorized access to and use of personal identification information, as defined in s. 817.568(1)(f), contained in electronic databases used by a law enforcement officer in his or her official capacity. This training must include, but need not be limited to, the proper use, and limitations on use, of electronic databases in a law enforcement officer’s official capacity and the penalties associated with the misuse of such electronic databases.
