What does “Violent offender” mean in Indiana criminal law?
"Violent offender" means a person who is: (1) convicted of an offense or attempted offense that is a crime of violence (as defined in section 79 of this chapter); (2) charged with an offense or attempted offense that is a crime of violence (as defined in section 79 of this chapter); or (3) a security risk as defined by section 290 of this chapter. (Ind. Code § 35-31.5-2-352)
