What does “Opiate” mean in Iowa criminal law?

“Opiate” means any substance having an addiction-forming or addiction-sustaining liability similar to morphine or being capable of conversion into a drug having addiction-forming or addiction-sustaining liability. (Iowa Code § 124.101)
