What does “Synthetic urine” mean in Iowa criminal law?
“Synthetic urine” means any substance that is designed to simulate the composition, chemical properties, physical appearance, or physical properties of human urine for the purpose of defrauding a drug or alcohol test. 5. “Urine additive” means any substance that is designed to be added to human urine for the purpose of defrauding a drug or alcohol test. 6. “Writing” includes printing or any other method of recording information, and includes money, coins, tokens, stamps, seals, credit cards, badges, trademarks, and other symbols of value, right, privilege, or identification. (Iowa Code § 715A.1)
