What does “Wire communication” mean in South Dakota criminal law?

(15) "Wire communication," any communication made through the use of facilities for the transmission of communications by the aid of wire, cable, radio, or other connection between the point of origin and the point of reception furnished or operated by any person engaged as a common carrier in providing or operating the facilities for the transmission of interstate or foreign communications; (16) "Electronic communication," any transfer of signs, signals, writings, images, sounds, data, or intelligence of any nature transmitted by a wire, radio, electromagnetic, electronic, or optical system.
