(a) A communication common carrier or a provider of an electronic communications service that provides facilities and assistance to the department or a designated law enforcement office or agency under Article 18B.101 (b) is entitled to compensation at the prevailing rates for the facilities and assistance. (b) A communication common carrier that provides facilities and assistance to a designated law enforcement office or agency under Article 18B.102 (b) is entitled to compensation at the prevailing rates for the facilities and assistance.
