(a) On a determination by the judge or jury that the defendant is not guilty by reason of insanity, pending further proceedings under this chapter, the court may order the defendant detained in jail or any other suitable place for a period not to exceed 14 days. (b) The court may order a defendant detained in a facility of the commission under this article only with the consent of the head of the facility.
