(a) Except as provided by Subsections (b) and (c), an assignment of or agreement to assign a right to benefits for loss accruing in the future is unenforceable. (b) An assignment of a right to benefits for loss of earnings is enforceable to secure payment of alimony, maintenance, or child support. (c) An assignment of a right to benefits is enforceable to the extent that the benefits are for the cost of a product, service, or accommodation: (1) made necessary by the injury or death on which the claim is based; and (2) provided or to be provided by the assignee.
