(a) A juvenile justice agency and a clerk of a juvenile court shall: (1) compile and maintain records needed for reporting data required by the department; (2) transmit to the department in the manner provided by the department data required by the department; (3) give the department or its accredited agents access to the agency or court for the purpose of inspection to determine the completeness and accuracy of data reported; and (4) cooperate with the department to enable the department to perform its duties under this chapter. (b) A juvenile justice agency and clerk of a court shall retain documents described by this section.
