What does “Risk and needs assessment” mean in Utah criminal law?
"Risk and needs assessment" means an actuarial tool validated on offenders that determines: (5)(a) an individual's risk of reoffending; and (5)(b) the criminal risk factors that, when addressed, reduce the individual's risk of reoffending. (Utah Code Ann. § 77-1-3)
