In Utah criminal law, “Sexual activity” is a term defined by statute rather than by its everyday meaning. Its statutory definition — quoted verbatim below — controls how the term is applied throughout the Utah criminal code.

What does “Sexual activity” mean in Utah criminal law?

"Sexual activity" means physical sexual contact: (1)(a)(ii)(A) between the actor and the animal involving the genitals of the actor and the genitals of the animal; (1)(a)(ii)(B) the genitals of the actor or the animal and the mouth or anus of the actor or the animal; or (1)(a)(ii)(C) through the actor's use of an object in contact with the genitals or anus of the animal. (Utah Code Ann. § 76-13-213)
