What does “Adoptive home” mean in Virginia criminal law?

"Adoptive home" means the place of residence of any natural person in which a child resides as a member of the household and in which he has been placed for the purposes of adoption or in which he has been legally adopted by another member of the household. (Va. Code Ann. § 16.1-228)
