In Washington criminal law, “Aggrieved” is a term defined by statute rather than by its everyday meaning. Its statutory definition — quoted verbatim below — controls how the term is applied throughout the Washington criminal code.

What does “Aggrieved” mean in Washington criminal law?

"Aggrieved" means: (a) A person, physically present at the health care facility when the prohibited actions occur, whose access is or is about to be obstructed or impeded; (b) A person, physically present at the health care facility when the prohibited actions occur, whose care is or is about to be disrupted; (c) The health care facility, its employees, or agents; (d) The owner of the health care facility or the building or property upon which the health care facility is located. (RCW 9A.50.010)
