What does “Emotional distress” mean in Maine criminal law?
"Emotional distress" means mental or emotional suffering of the person being stalked as evidenced by anxiety, fear, torment or apprehension that may or may not result in a physical manifestation of emotional distress or a mental health diagnosis. (17-A M.R.S. § 210-A)
